Abstract: Generally in communication, Vocabulary plays an important role means to express our views, opinions, thoughts and feelings, either in spoken or written form. Vocabulary is considered an essential part of learning Second Language (L2) since it leads to communication. Vocabulary plays a crucial role in second language acquisition, particularly for students of schools and colleges. Acquiring a deep and rich vocabulary knowledge-base would help these students to convey their message more efficiently in L2. However, learning vocabulary is not an easy job. New words run fast out of mind if they are stored without any use. Practitioners and applied linguists have always been trying to not only emphasize the importance of vocabulary learning but also propose a way for efficient learning of new vocabulary items in L2.

Abstract: The Romantic era, emerging in the late 18th century, is renowned for its deep appreciation of nature and its reflection of human emotions and spirituality. This research paper explores the poetic representation of nature in the works of two influential Romantic writers, William Wordsworth and Samuel Taylor Coleridge. Through an analysis of major literary works, such as Coleridge's "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner" and "Kubla Khan," as well as Wordsworth's "Lines Composed a Few Miles Above Tintern Abbey" and "Ode: Intimations of Immortality," this study investigates how nature influences philosophical reflections and affective reactions in addition to serving as a backdrop. The comparative analysis reveals Wordsworth's portrayal of nature as a moral and spiritual guide contrasted with Coleridge's depiction of nature's mysterious and symbolic dimensions. Despite their stylistic and philosophical differences, both poets underscore the Romantic belief in nature's profound and multifaceted role in shaping human experience. This research highlights the enduring legacy of Wordsworth and Coleridge in framing contemporary understandings of nature in literature.

JAIRAM KUMAR MAHATO

Abstract: This paper examines Mulk Raj Anand's significant contribution to post-colonial Indian literature through his powerful representation of marginalized communities. Anand's literary works, particularly Untouchable (1935), Coolie (1936), and the Lal Singh trilogy, serve as compelling narratives that challenge the hegemonic structures of colonial and post-colonial Indian society. Through the theoretical frameworks of Antonio Gramsci's concept of hegemony, Gayatri Spivak's subaltern studies, and Edward Said's orientalism, this paper analyzes how Anand's fiction becomes a vehicle for social transformation and consciousness-raising. The study reveals that Anand's commitment to depicting the lives of untouchables, peasants, and industrial workers establishes him as a pioneering voice in giving agency to the voiceless. His realistic portrayal of social injustices, combined with his Marxist ideological framework, positions his work as both literary achievement and social document. The paper concludes that Anand's literature transcends mere documentation to become a powerful instrument of resistance against oppressive social hierarchies, making him an indispensable figure in the canon of post-colonial Indian literature.
